Run
WWF Work
TW Cat Interview
Alpha
Felt good when I got up so after dropping Andrea at the station I went for run around Bevendean. Got home and managed to finish a piece of WWF work that I had been working on for a while. Got a phone call from Michelle saying she wanted me to go into the office tomorrow which was OK. Then I did a bit of tiding up etc and then read through the stuff again for my TW CAT interview at 2pm. Then got dressed and left the house at 1pm parked up at Churchill square and had a little wonder around as I was fairly early. I went to find where their office was so I knew where I was going and then killed a bit more time in borders books as it was just a stone throws form their office. Their offices were pretty crappy and I had a good chat with Tim Hopkins for an hour or so which I think went well. He wants me to go back next week to see the other directors. Got home after that and phoned Dad, then pottered around on the computer for a bit. Picked Andrea up from Brighton Station at 7pm and we went straight to church for Alpha. That was really good, it was `Why Did Jesus Die`. Tim V did an excellent talk and we had a really good discussion on our table. We gave Dan a lift home afterwards and we got in around 10.30pm

Police Recruitment Event
Got up at 6am and dropped Andrea off at the station for 7am Then came straight home and started some WWF work. Worked until around 10.30am then pottered around on the computer for a bit. After that I read my Bible of a while and tidied up the house for the rest of the afternoon. In the evening Andrea got home early and I cooked a stir fry. Then we went to the Sussex Police recruitment event at Slaugham. We got there at 6pm and it looked like everyone else was already there. About 150 people. It was an interesting evening all about what it is like to be a police officer, what is involved and what is expected of you and how the recruitment process works, That finished about 8pm and there was a buffet and a chance to chat to serving officers. It was really busy and though was hardly any room so I just picked up an application pack and we left.

Spring Harvest Lunch
Church
Struggled out of bed about 8.30am as we had to be at church for 9.30am as Andrea was singing. I had a nasty headache though. Got to church and went to see DT and helped organise a few bits before the service. We had a guest speaker called Paul who was a Welsh guy and a friend of Philips Deuks. My headache got worse as the service went on. Afterwards we had a lunch in the hall for everyone that was going to Spring Harvest which Steve and Caroline Cook organised. We left there about 2.30pm and I lay on the couch for a while as me head was still bad. After a while I went upstairs and went to bed. I woke up about 5.15pm feeling very jaded. Wen back to church for the evening service which was really good. DT preached about false teachers from 2 Peter 2. Got home and we ate chilli for dinner. Then I pottered around on the computer for a bit then went to bed early.

Went to Simon and Jennys for Dinner
We had a nice lie in today and got up about 9am and had a cup of tea and some toast and we decided to go orienteering. So we rushed out to get there before the 10.45am close of registration. We only just about made it as it was a long way away. The course was in Fiitleworth and Hesworth Common near Pulbourgh. We did the Orange course which was a really good one. After that we coma home and chilled out for a bit, had some chilli for lunch and did a bit on eh computer and then we watched "Armageddon". That was OK. A bit of a yarn. During the afternoon I had a text message from Atkins saying that Sam Cooper had had her baby. Emma Peggy 7lb 7oz at about 1am. In the evening we went to Simon and Jenny O'Breins for dinner. That was a really nice evening. We got there about 7.30pm and Jenny made banger and mash which was lovely and we stayed there chatting until about 1.30am!

Went to World Vision for a Chat
Dad Came Over
Druids for Wozna's Birthday
Watched Brighton Rock
Got up about 6am and got ready and then dropped Andrea at the station for 7am and went straight from there to Milton Keynes. Had a good run and was there in 2 hours. On the way there Ian called and left a message to say that he had just done a sky dive! As I was at World Vision a bit early I went to a near by petrol station and filled and and got a sandwich and ate that in the car before going in. I meet with Iris for a couple of hours to discuss some of the things I could help out with and then she showed me around the place. I left about 11.30am but I missed the M25 turn off from the M1 so had to turn around and go back which added a bit of time of my journey and meant I wasn't home until about 2pm. When I got in I had some lunch and phoned Dad as he had his first Alpha course today. He really enjoyed it and had stayed for the friendship centre lunch and then had gone back to Anne and Mikes for a bit. He came over about 3pm for an hour or so which was nice then I went to the druids about 5pm for Wozna's birthday do. That was a good evening Andrea got there about 6pm and we had some food and stayed until about 8pm. Micah turned up about 7pm as it was his birthday as well so that was really good to see him. On the way home it was really snowing and there was a fair bit of snow in Bevendean.Came home and we watched "Brighton Rock" which was OK. The book made more sense after watching the film.

PC Nightmares
Dropped Andrea off at the station as usual then came home and pottered around on the computer for a bit. The 10GB HDD I had bought off Ebay had arrived so I set about installing that in my PC. Had a nightmare with it though as it doesn't work so I ended up having to put my old one back in and reinstalling windows XP on it. Then when I'd done that and put the my other 150GB HDD in that was empty! I then had a break form the PC and phoned Iris at World Vision to say I hadn;t got the EDF job. We arranged for me to go to World Vision in Milton Keynes to talk about some things I could help them out with up there. Then I made a chilli in the afternoon and then went back to sorting out my PC. I bought some software off the Internet that recovered all the data off of my HDD. But it took ages so I just left that running. At 6.25pm I picked up Andrea from Moulsecoomb station. IN the evening we ate the chilli and Andrea had a nice bath. We had some wine and an early night.

Kians 5th Birthday Party
Church Meeting
Dropped Andrea off at the station as usual and then drove up to WWF. Mark was still off ill so I sat at his desk and got on with some work. I didn't make amazing progress really and everyone seemed fairly stressed. Jez, Lawrence, Michelle and Me were all going to go out for lunch but Jez ended up not coming and Michelle got held up by a meeting so me and Lawrence went to Hectors. I left work about 3.30pm and still have a couple of hours worth of work to do. Got home and wrapped up Kians present and card. Also saw I had a letter from EDF saying I hadn't go the job. They must have posted that after I spoke to them yesterday! Then I went to pick Andrea up from the station at 5.30pm and we went straight to Juliet and Jaime's. Paddy, Vicky, Rachel, Abbey, Neive, Anne and Mike were already there. Kian had lots and lots of toys and an amazing birthday cake made like a castle! We stayed until about 7.30pm then drove to church for the church meeting. That was a really good meeting. We got home about 10.30pm and went straight to bed.

Went for Run
Went to Town
Went to Marina
Went to Shoreham Beach
Alpha
Had a good day today. I took Andrea to the station for 7am and then went straight out for a run, which went really well. It was really cold out though as it had been very clear. Got home and read my bible and commentary for a while and then had a 20min nap. After that I got showered and dressed and left the house about 9.30am to go to town. Got parked up and spent about 2.5 hours having a look around. I had to get Kians 5th birthday present and spent ages looking around for the shop which sold the geomag stuff he wanted. Also I had a bunch of vouchers from Christmas so I bought some computer games with those. Then I popped in the McDonalds for breakfast and paid a cheque in at the bank. Then I drove down to the marina as the small tables for lounge had finally come in stock at room. So I got them and then went to Asda for a few bits. By this time it was a very nice sunny day but still very cold though. On the way home I got a phone call from World Vision saying they were hopeful I could do some contract work for them for a few days a week. So when I got in I pottered around on the computer for a bit, had lunch and then called Iris at World Vision. They wanted to know when I'd be available to start so I then phoned EDF to see what was happening about the job there. They said they'd find out and get back to me. Then the guy from wickes arrived at 3pm to measure up for the kitchen. He was all done by 3.40pm After that I then had to drive to place in Shoreham Beach to pick up a computer I'd bought from Ebay. That was a little adventure really as I'd never really been over that way and as it was a sunny day there were some really nice views. Then I spent some time setting up the new PC. Andrea phoned to say she was stuck at work and that she'd just meet me at Alpha. I got to Alpha just in time and it turns out we were leading a different table to the one we thought we'd be leading. This table was half made up of foreign people and half of college students. Dave T did a good talk and then we just had time for a short discussion really and then finished off at 10pm. A good packed day really

Went out with Jez and Lawrence to the Richmond which was nice. Then back to work and I left about 3.30pm. Came home and Dad phoned so I spoke to him for a while and then went and picked up Andrea at 5.45pm form Moulsecoomb and we got things ready for Simon Holloway our financial advisor who was coming over at 6.30pm. He came on time and stayed until about 8pm or so. It was interesting to talk to him but we didn't really learn anything new. Then we had a stir fry and watched a bit of telly before praying together

Went to Church Early I helped out DT Andrea was Singing
Had a Roast Dinner At Home
Played Monopoly
Andrea Didn't Feel Well
Helped PA Team After Evening Service
Watched Snooker
Got up fairly early as we had to be at church at 9am but at about 8.40am Anne phoned to say that in fact we didn't need to be there until 9.30am which meant we could have breakfast! I went into DT office and helped him and Tim Symonds out with a few thing and Andrea was singing. Tim Symonds preached from John 1:19-28. That was OK. After church we cam home and I planned to cook a roast. We phoned a few people to see if any one wanted to come over but no one was around so I we just had the roast between us! Then we played some monopoly. Andrea won for the first time! At about 4.30pm we went for an hours nap as we were both tired. When we woke up Andrea didn't feel to great so she stayed home and I went to the evening service on my own. It was a great service. Katey sang from the front and was amazing. DT preached from 2 Peter 1:12-21. Very good sermon. After the service I got a cup of cup of tea and chatted to a few people and then went to help Ben put up some board on the ceiling of the hall to enable them to stick a bracket for a projector on the ceiling. That was a bit of waste of time as they had plenty of people helping them in the end and didn't start until 8.45pm. I left at 9.30pm and left them to it. Then I came home and watched the final of the master snooker. Good match. I watched until 8 all but fell asleep after that!

Went to Devils Dyke and saw Hang Gliders and Paragliders
Watched 3 Kings
Went to King and Queen Pub
Had a nice lie in today. Got up about 9am. Had a cup of tea, then we all went for a run. Dad and Andrea went off ahead and I lost them quite quickly. I did my usual loop of Bevendean and found Dad and Andrea right at the end (behind me though!) We came home had another cup of tea and watched Saturday Kitchen for a bit then got showered and changed. After that I made us all breakfast. Then me and Dad spent a bit of time looking at the family tree stuff on the computer which was good. We found Dads grandad and all his family including his mum and dad! We got it all form the 1901 census. Then Dad went home and Andrea and me just chilled for a while. At lunch time we went up to Devils Dyke. It was a fairly nice day and it was really really packed up there. There were loads and loads of hang gliders and paragliders up there. We only just managed to park. It was great to see them all taking off and landing all around us and just floating above you as well. Then we went into the pub there and had a sandwich and a drink and then headed home. On the way back we popped into B+Q and to have a look for a new tap as our current one is broken. We didn't see that but we did get some plants for outside the front door and one for the lounge with some nice up lights in. Got in and set them up. Then had some coffee and cake and watched "3 Kings". That was OK although it had loads of really unnecessary and out of place bad language and it tried to be a bit too arty and was a bit horrible to watch at times. After that we read for w while then pottered around the house a bit. In the evening we went to the King and Queen pub to meet Mark Wills who was down in Brighton for the evening. He was a friend of Andrea's at university while they were doing PhD's together. We didn't get to talk to him that much really as he was catching up with loads of people as well. We chatted to a few of his friends from CCK . Just as were going to leave Jamie (Ray and Sue from next doors son) spotted us and came over and to us for a while. We were chatting about the church and faith for ages which was cool. Then we left there about 11.40pm came home and read in bed for a bit

Work was really getting on my nerves and I really wanted to get it all finished. I worked form about 7am till 2pm and got to a good place to finish. Michelle phoned and it looks like I can get another 3 days worth of work next week. Then hopefully that will be it for a while After that I made a sandwich and a cup of coffee and sat and watched the afternoon play on BBC1. That was quite good really. It was nice to just relax for a bit. It was about that girl and her boyfriend, and the girl invents a super fuel but chucks it all in to stay with her boyfriend. After that I did some tidying up and cleaning before Dad came over at 5pm. We did a few bits on the computer. I got dad set up on ebay and paypal. Then we both went and picked Andrea up form moulsecoomb at 6.25pm. Cam home, had a beer and chatted for a while. Then we decided to go to buffet island by St Peters Church. Got up early and took Andrea to the station. Cam home had breakfast and started work. I worked till about 8.30am then had a shower and got ready to go door 2 door with Andy. I got to church about 9.30am and chatted to Nelia while I waited for Andy. About 9.40am Andy turned up. We prayed together, got some Alpha flyers and then went out on the doors Andy did all the talking really but it was a really good experience and I hope to go out again next week. Got home about 11.20am, made a cup tea and a sandwich and got straight back to work. That was a bit dull and frustrating, but I think I'm almost finished. I worked till about 5pm then cleaned up house a bit ready for a nice romantic evening in with Andrea. Andrea phoned to say she'd be home early which was great. John in Hospital
Visited John
Made Lasagne
Went Bowling with Home Group
Got up early to take Andrea to the station then pretty much started work straight away. During the morning I got an e-mail from Jenny O'Brien to say that John Elbourne had been taken into hospital with heart palpitations, so I prayed for him and the family and then phoned his wife Lisa to see if there was anything I could do. She suggested I go and see John that afternoon. So I then worked until about 1pm then I went to visit John in hospital. That was nice. He seemed reasonably well except for the fact he had all sorts of machines hooked up to him to monitor his heart rate which was all over the place. I stayed for 20 or 30 mins or so and during that time his sister came in to visit as well. So I prayed for John then left him and sister to have a little time on their own. After the hospital I went to Asda at the marina to do some shopping. I got home about 4.30pm unpacked everything. As I hadn't had any lunch I was starving so I made a sandwich, grabbed a beer and sat down and watched a bit of the snooker on the telly. Then I started to make a lasagne for dinner. I got a bit stuck while making the white sauce so I turned everything off then went to collect Andrea and she showed me what I needed to do next! After dinner we drove to pick up Matt Upton then went on to the bowling alley at the marina as a home group social. That was really good fun. We had Simon, Jenny, Andy, Matt, Andrea, Me,Paul, Amanda, Ben, Rachel and Ricardo. We played a couple of games. Really good evening. Paul won and I didn't do very well, couldn't break to 100 mark. Andrea did a bit better than she usually does though. She got 68 on her second go. We finished up there and left by 10.30pm and dropped Matt home.

Went to Alpha Supper
Did my Speech
Got up early and dropped Andrea off at Moulsecoomb then came home and went for a run. I did really well. I did my usual loop round Bevendean and then the extra loop down to Texas pizza. It was probably my best run in terms of speed and distance. Then came and had breakfast and showered etc. For the rest of the morning I did stuff round the house and messed around on the computer till around midday. Then started doing some more WWF work. Around 3.30pm I saw I had a voice message from Tim V at church. He was asking if I would say a few words at the Alpha supper at church later. My initial reaction was "oh no" but I sat down and penned a few words and felt better about it. I worked till about 6.15pm and then went to collect Andrea and we went to the Alpha supper for about 8pm. The evening was really good. Sarah Pooley and others were playing as a jazz band and they were really good, and the place was packed. I spoke for just 2 or 3 minutes which went OK I think. Then Tim spoke. He was really good Got home about 10.30pm.

We got up a little later today which was nice and I did some stuff on the computer including the home group time table so I could print it and give it to people at church later. Just about had time to wash my face and have a bit of toast before leaving to get to church for 10.30am We sat up stairs with Andy and Dave Treener took the sermon. He preached form John 1:14-18 about grace and how we need Gods grace. It was a very good and powerful message. We chatted to a few people after the service for a while. Then we came home and had some of Dads minestrone soup he had left us with which we fantastic. We just chilled for the afternoon. Andrea did some of her puzzle and we watched "The River Wild" which was really good. Went back to church for 6.15pm. Chatted to Ben HT before the service and he mentioned about me being on the PA team for the Wales Mission. I said I'd think about it but I'm not keen. Then went into Dave's office for a chat and pray with him. Dave asked me to do some plugs at the beginning of the service. I said yes but didn't really know what to say and was really nervous before hand during the music. It turned out OK though. Tim V preached and was really good as usual. He preached from 2 Peter 1:5-11 about faith and other qualities. Very good and challenging. After the service we hung around for a while and chatted to a few people. Came home and Andrea did some more of her puzzle then we had a pizza and watched "Ice Age". That was alright but not all that.

Unfortunately we had to be up early again today as we were doing a St Johns Ambulance 1st aid course in Worthing today. I got about 7.30am and Andrea got up a bit after me. We were both knackered from having to be up at 6am every day and really wanted a lie in. Added this this I felt ruff from drinking just half a bottle of wine last night. I had a little lie down on the sofa with a coffee and Andrea made some breakfast. Then Andrea got annoyed because just before we were going to leave she read on the instructions that you should wear trousers for the course, and she had a skirt on, so she changed and we were on the road by 8.20am or so. We made it to Worthing in good time, getting there about 8.50am. We went in and sat down and got a cup of tea. I was feeling much better by this time. The guy taking the course was called Alan and the actual course was "Emergency 1st Aid for the public!. There were 7 of us including me and Andrea, and we covered things like recovery position, major cuts, CPR, etc. It was a good course and we were all finished by about 1pm. After that we popped into a Currys in Worthing to look at cookers and fridges for the new kitchen and then we went into boots to get a sandwich as we were really hungry. We got about 2.30pm and were knackered so we just chilled out for the rest of the day. In the evening we played a bit of boggle and amazingly I won some games (Andrea had a headache) Then we watched "Sneakers" which was pretty good. Went to bed about 10.30pm

A month since my last day at WWF and I'm back there again! I Went in fro 8.30am and it felt a little strange but comfortable. I chatted to Michelle and Mark for a while and then sat down with Mark to go through some stuff he wanted to know form me and he handed some stuff over to me to do as well. Got home about 6.30pm and heated the chilli I made and had that for dinner, which was very nice. Then we prayed together and watched a bit of telly. We watched the second half of the Richard Dawkins programme on channel 4 about how all religion is evil. Of course it mostly concentrated on Christianity. Very biased and silly programme with almost no intelligent debate or discussion. Was good to be reminded though of how some of the world thinks about faith. After that I played on the playstation2 for a bit then went to bed

Tim Symonds preached from John 1:1-13 about creation. It was an OK sermon. Me and Andrea did tea and coffee after the service. I briefly chatted to a new guy called Phil. After church we went back to Anne and Mikes for a lovely roast. Then I went back to church a bit earlier in the evening to help out Dave Trenner before the service. It was great to pray with him and the others. He preached a very powerful sermon about being filled with Gods grace and being thirsty for God from 2 Peter 1:1-6. Very good service. We stayed behind for a little bit chatting to a few people and then drove Iris home as it was raining (still from Friday night!) . We got back home about 9pm and just chilled out for the rest of the evening.

Orienteering at Southwater
Watched The End of The Burbs
Cooked a Roast
Watched The Man With 2 Brains

Got up about 8.30am and got ready for orienteering at southwater. We left the house about 9.20am and the weather wasn't great: light rain and misty, so we knew it would it would be a bit muddy out. We decided we'd do the orange course (2.2km) which sounded about right distance wise for me as you have to bear in mind that the distance given is the as the crow flies so in reality you probably do nearer twice that. I did most of the navigating and Andrea did most of the running. We only really got lost at 1 point and took a couple of other wrong turns. It was a good course and we both really enjoyed it. We completed the course in around 35 minutes, which wasn't bad I thought. We got home and were showered and drinking coffee by midday. Then we watched the end of "The Burbs" which was pretty good and we just chilled really for the rest of the day. Did some tidying up etc. Took the Christmas decorations down. Andrea was doing some Internet research in to our planned new kitchen.. I then cooked a nice roast dinner. This time I used a pre-basted and stuffed turkey joint form Asda which was far easier. That all turned out nice and we ate about 5pm. In the evening I played some "Burn Out 3" on the playstaion2 and we watched a bit of "the man with 2 brains" which was on the telly. That was alright, but not great

First Real Day Off
Food Shopping
Atkins and Minton for Dinner
Watched The Burbs

Got up and dropped Andrea at the Brighton station. In some ways this was my first real days off as before was holiday from WWF, then 2 days preparing / worrying about my EDF interview, then the meeting with DT. So I really just relaxed and pottered around. I made a list of jobs to do in the morning and worked my way leisurely through those as well as playing on he computer for a bit, reading my bible and praying etc. About 2pm I went to Asda at the marina and I popped into room to see if they had the tables we ware waiting for. They didn't so I put another order in. Picked Andrea up at 6.35pm and we got ready for Atkins and Minton coming over at 7.30pm for dinner. Lovely evening. Andrea cooked a mushroom risotto from the Jamie Oliver book they'd bought us for Christmas and I made bruschettas for starters. We finished dinner about 9pm and had coffee and played some super boggle. They left about 11ish and me and Andrea started watching "The Burbs" till about midnight.

EDF Interview
Meet up With Dave Trenner
Watched Batman

Got up early and showered, shaved and cut my hair. Then drove Andrea to Brighton Station, came home had breakfast and read through a few bits before getting dressed into my suit. Left for my EDF interview at about 8.20am. It took about 20 minutes to get there so I sat in the reception for 10 or so minutes. I saw Paul Charman while I waiting and he wished me luck then I had my interview with the HR woman (Judy Rea-Taylor) and the guy who be my line manager (Clifford Budge). The interview started at 9am and I think it went well. I was able to answer all the questions well. The interview only lasted about 40 minutes or so as the guy doing the interviewing hardly had any questions. Then I sat with the HR woman for a bit to do some HR stuff and then she showed me around the building a little bit. After all that I had 20 minutes until my tests so I popped out and got a paper and sat in the car for a bit.I wen tin for the test about 10.30am and there were 2 other guys who were also going for the job. The first test was the maths test. The guy spent ages talking us through what we needed to do etc. We did 3 example questions first (I struggled on one of these, and he had to help me)Then we did the actual test. We had 35 minutes to do 30 questions. And they were HARD questions. Then we had a 5 minute break so the 3 of us chatted for a bit and then we went back in for the personality test. That was 108 questions but I just whizzed through that and then I had to sit outside for a while until the other 2 had finished. When they were done it was all over and I walked out at 12.45pm. 8.50am - 12.45pm in all. It had already felt like a long day! All in all I was pleased with how it had gone. Got home about 1pm and phoned Andrea to let her know how it had gone. Then I called Michelle Woodward at WWF as she had left a message about possibly doing some contract work there. I phoned her back and they want me to go in Monday and do some stuff for £19 per hour. Not too bad I thought. I'll also charge for my travel time as well. After all that I went off to church to meet up with Dave Treener at 3.30pm he wanted to talk about some things I could get involved in at church. We spoke about alpha, door 2 door home group cluster leading, work ministry and also helping out before and after services on a Sunday. Sounds exciting stuff. Got home about 4.45pm and Dad phoned. Spoke to him for a while, then picked up Andrea about 5.45pm from moulsecoomb. We watched Tim Burtons "Batman"in the evening which was a bit naff and not as good as I remember it being. Went to bed about 10.30pm

Went Across the Road to See Mark and Sarah
Went Over Interview Questions with Andrea

Got up at 6.15am today, and dropped Andrea at the station. Then just pottered around for most of the day really. Went over to Mark + Sarah's across the road as Mark is an electrician so I asked him about a fuse of ours that keeps blowing. He said it may be a to do with water coming into our outside light so I have turned that off for now. I stayed chatting to them for about 20mins which was nice. In the evening I went over some interview questions with Andrea, to prepare for my EDF interview tomorrow. That was helpful.

Went for Run
Prayer Time for 24/7 Prayer Week
Andrea's Paper Got Rejected

Got up at 6am and took Andrea to mouslecoomb station for 7am. Came back home and went straight out for a run. I did the usual loop around Bevendean where we live, and also the extra loop around texas pizza. I ran all the way and it felt good. I was pretty pleased with my run. Best yet I think .Came home and chilled out for a while and decided to take the mock maths and personality tests which I'd be doing in my EDF interview on Thursday. The took absolutely ages to complete and were very hard. Had some breakfast after that and then realised I missed my 11am slot for our 24/7 week of prayer that the church was running. So quickly got down to it and had a very good time of prayer. Andrea ended up getting an early train home so I picked her from Brighton at 5.15pm. We came home and made lasagne. Andrea had had some bad news about her paper getting rejected from the journal she had submitted it to which was a bit of a blow. We ate dinner, then Andrea went for singing practice. I sat down to do some of the accounts on the computer which didn't make for good reading! When Andrea got home I showed how hard the mock tests were I would have to do for the interview. She agreed!

Walk around Lewes
Roast Dinner
Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe

Got up late again (9.30am) had breakfast and then we decided to go on a walk around Lewes which I'd got off of walkers world.com which I joined yesterday. I'd never been to Lewes before so it was really good to look round this lovely historic town. We started at Lewes station about 11.10am. We walked all around Lewes, past a lovely old church where we chatted to the vicar for a while and we had lunch at nice pub and nice pint of Sussex best from the Harvey's brewery which is in Lewes. As well as going through the town it also took in part of the country side around Lewes. It was a very muddy at some places and at one place we both nearly got stranded in the middle of a big pool of mud! We finished the walk about 3pm and came home and chilled out for a bit. Then we went to sainsburys to get stuff in for a roast dinner. In the evening I cooked a roast beef roast dinner with roast potatoes etc. I did it all and wasn't too bad for a first attempt. After we'd eaten we watched an "Only fools n Horses" episode called "Peckam Miracle" which was pretty funny and then went to the cinema at the marina to watch "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe". We saw the 8.45pm showing, although the actual film didn't start until 9.05pm!. The film was fantastic. Better than I thought it would be. Excellent film with many parallels to the Christian gospel. Got home about 11.40pm

Andrea singing at am service
DT's Dad preached the evening service

Up at 8.15am and we had tea and croissants for breakfast, then Andrea left to get a lift with her mum to church as she was singing so needed to be there early. Mike walked down to our house and I had a cup of tea with him. Dad phoned to say "Happy new year". Then we drove to church at 10am Dave Treener did the sermon about our verse of the year which is Mark 1:17. Was a good sermon about being invited by Jesus to follow him. We got home about 1pm, had lunch and read our bibles. Then I had a little sleep while Andrea did her puzzle I got her for Christmas, then she had a little sleep too. After that we played super boggle and I beat Andrea for once on a best of 3! Back to church in the evening which was good. Dave Treener's dad, Mike preached and he was very good. He gave a testimony of how he became a Christian. He spoke about James 5:7-20 all about prayer and how we about how we should prayer. He talked about how even `great` bible characters like Elijah were just normal men like us. Got home about 8.45pm and watched poirot on ITV
