Andrea's Birthday
Went To The Pool
Dinner At The Tagine

Its Andrea's birthday! She opened some cards that she'd brought with her and I gave her my card and presents. After that we went to breakfast at Olives, then came back to the room and got ourselves ready for the pool. We spent ages by the pool and had a good time. I had a game of table tennis with some kid form Nottingham. After we were all done at the pool we came back to the room. We had a really great meal at the tagine Moroccan restaurant. We had Moroccan tea which they poured from a great height! They let me have a go. I wasn't bad! After that we came back to the room and watched a bit of telly before going to bed

Went for breakfast at Olives. After that we went out to the bigger pool and chilled out here. At one point I went back to the room to only to find that there was a power cut in the hotel. I couldn't use the lift so had to use some service stairs and all the fire doors had closed so it was all really dark and very hard to find my way back to the room! At about 3pm we went back to the room and order some lunch on room service. We got some sandwiches which came on a little trolley which folded out to be a posh table! It was great! After that we went down to the adult pool. We were the only ones there again. We stayed there until it got too dark to read. Then we went to the beach for a while. We were the only ones there (although it was dark!). After the beach we came back and got ready for dinner. We got the shuttle to the Arabian Court hotel and went to the Nina's restaurant. We were slightly early so we had a drink at the bar before sitting down at our table to eat. The food was good. Really nice curry and stir fry. We were well stuffed after that and got the shuttle bus back to our room.

Got up a little bit earlier today (9am!) and we had breakfast at the celebrities restaurant for a change. It was OK but not as good as Olives. Then we went back to the room and got ourselves ready for the pool. We went to the adult only pool again and we were the only ones there. We stayed for quite a while. When we got too hot we came back to the room and got ourselves ready for afternoon tea in the library! That was really good. After that we were knackered so we came back and slept for an hour or so till about 6pm at about 7pm we went down to the beach for an evening swimand although it was dark the water was still very warm and the air temperature was slightly more bearable. We stayed on the empty private beach till about 8.30pm. Then we came back and got ready for dinner at the Olives restaurant. That was alright but not as good as we had had else where in the hotel.

Got up late again and rushed to get ready for breakfast. After breakfast we came back to the room and got ready to go to the pool. We went to the adult only pool which was really empty and very quite. Stayed there for a few hoursand then went back to the room, got changed and caught the free bus from the hotel to the emirate mall. It was massive! In 3 hours we didn't even get round the ground floor. I bought a shirt and a couple of pairs of trousers and Andrea got a top. We were knackered by the end and went and had a coffee and a sandwich. Got back to the hotel about 5.30pm and chilled out in the room for a while, then we went for to the pool again. We had it to ourselves which was nice. We came in about 7.30pm and got ready for dinner. We walked over to the Arabian court hotel which is where the rotisserie was. We eventually found it! The meal was really really good. It was a buffet meal with absolutely loads of choice and all fantastic quality as well. After dinner we went to the rooftop terrace bar for a drink. After that we caught the the shuttle bus back to our hotel, had a quick game of scrabble and went to bed.

Got up late and had to get ready sharpish so we didn't miss the last orders on our breakfast at 10.30am. It was a pretty good buffet style breakfast. After we'd finished breakfast we went on the beach for a few hours. The beach was lovely and not very busy at all. The hotel has a 1km long private beach. The water was really really warm. The staff came round and gave us ice cold water as we lay on our sun loungers, as it was 42 degrees in the day. They also came round and cleaned our sun glasses. After the beach we came back to the room and had a nap and chilled for a while. After that we went for a walk around the resort which comprises of 3 hotels. The resort is 1km across. We went and checked out some of the restaurants we had booked up for the week. There were plenty of restaurants and we were half board. We went back to our room by walking back along the beach. At 7.30pm we went for dinner at the `Beach Bar & Grill` which was really nice. Andrea had a fantastic steak. After dinner we walked along the beach a bit more and then came back to our room and had a very funny game of scrabble

Got up about 5.30am and got ready to go to Gatwick. We were on the road by 6.30am. Dad drove us there and dropped us off at the north terminal. We got checked in etc very quickly and smoothly and then went into the departure lounge. We had a fair bit of time so we had a wonder around and got a bite to eat. We boarded the plane OK but it was delayed taking off for quite a while. It was an OK flight (as OK as you get in cramped economy). The video system was pretty cool. I watched the Steve Martins Pink Panther which had me laughing all the way to Istanbul! Then I watched Fun With Dick and Jane which was good. Landed slightly late at Dubai but got through passport control quickly and got our bags etc. We had a bit of trouble finding where the car was to take us to the hotel. We ended up going outside the airport and then realised it was back inside! Some guy let us back in though. Had a quick drive to the hotel. It was really really hot out even at this time (9pm) 36.5 degrees! When we got to the hotel (The Palace at the one and only royal mirage) it was amazing. They sat us down in the lobby and checked us in and gave us some Arabic tea. Once we'd done all the paper work the guy took our bags to our room. It was a lovely room with a balcony. We got him to book us a table at one of the restaurants. It was 10pm now so we quickly changed and went to eat at the Moroccan restaurant called tagine. That was really nice. After that we went back to the room and crashed out.

Adrian came round first thing to finish off a few bits he had been doing. He wasn't here long. After doing a few bits on the computer I went into town to get Andrea's birthday present and card and a couple of other bits as well. I parked up about 10.30am. I bumped into Andrew Coppard in W H Smiths. When I got in I did a few bits of house work and then Dad came over about 4.30pm. Andrea got in about 5pm and then shortly after Anne and Mike came round to drop off Andrea's birthday present. Then Atkins came over about 6.30pm to also drop off a present from her and Minton. After Atkins and Anne and Mike went we ate the dinner that Dad had brought down with him, which was very tasty. Then we packed our bags for the holiday tomorrow and then had an early night as it we have an early start tomorrow.

As I had a lot of stuff to do for work yesterday, there were a few bits a didn't get time to finish so I did half a days work from home again today. I did some work early in the morning and then went to church to meet Tim V to go out on the doors with him. We didn't get to speak to too many people but we had a good time chatting as we went round. Got home and carried on with work. After work I did a bit house work. In the evening Andrea loads and loads of ironing and we watched the last 2 episodes of `Lost: Season 2` part one. We also watched the last hour of `Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow`

Worked from home today. Adrian came over about 11am and carried on doing some jobs round the house. Andrea came home for lunch which was really nice. At about 4pm we went to our third mid wifes appointment. That went well and was all good. We listened to the babies heart beat! In the evening we had our first home group for ages. Only Andy came as I hadn't let everyone know about it until today! We had a good time though.

Got up early again and drove into work. Had a good journey again. Adrian came over about 8.30am and did a few around the house today. He did the electrics in he garage and also sorted out the TV aerial and stuff. Had a good day at work. It went quickly. Had a bad journey home. The M1 was really really jammed. But as soon as I got on to the M25 it was all fine. Got home about 8pm though. We watched a couple of episodes of `Lost: Season 2` in the evening.

Had a good journey to work today. Work was OK. I went for a stroll and pray with Fiona at lunch time. I drove home after work but the traffic was pretty bad. I got home about 7.45pm We had something to eat quickly and then we drove over to Atkins's as it was her birthday. Chippy and Sally were there and then Gava, Melissa, Minton and few others turned up as well. We left about 10.30pm.

Andrea was singing at church in the morning so she went early. Dad came round about 10am. We had a cup tea and then went to church as well. Really good service. There were 3 baptisms. Dave and Andy Copard gave really good testimonies. The service finished slightly early and we all went down to the sea front where Susanah got baptised in the sea. After the service Dad went on to Steve and Anna's for a BBQ and we had Anne and Mike over for lunch. After lunch Mike and me went for a stroll around Bevendean and Anne and Andrea made some cookies. Went back to church in the evening. After the service Tim V and Dave L prayed for me about my high blood pressure. It was an amazing time! When we got in we watched a bit of `Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow`

Andrea went shopping in Lewes in the morning but I stayed home and tidied the house a bit and played some `Age Of Empires: The Rise Of Rome`. At about 2pm we drove to Moulsecoomb to pick up Helen and then we went on to Michelle's BBQ at her house in Hurst Peir Point. That was really good. There were a few other people from Andrea's lab and some friends and family of Michelle as well. We left there about 6pm and gave a couple a lift back to Brighton and dropped Helen back at Moulsecoomb station and then went on to church for the prayer meeting. We got at 7pm and had a good but smallish prayer meeting praying for the next senior pastor. That finished about 8.30pm and then we came home chilled out.

Adrian came round first thing in the morning to price up some work sorting out the electrics in the garage and a few other bits. After that I went to Sainsburys to get a few bits I couldn't get in Asda yesterday. I then spent the rest of the morning cooking some meals for later in the week and giving the kitchen a really good clean. Andrea came home for lunch which was really good. We had some soup and chilled out. When she went back to work I went to church to do some web site stuff with Laura and Jon. I got there a little before them and spoke to Dave Treneer for a bit. He prayed for me about my blood pressure problem. After we had our web meeting I came home Sainsburys again to get 3 things I'd forgotten earlier! I washed the kitchen floor when I got in. In the evening we were meant to be going to a church BBQ but Andrea was pretty tired after her busy week at work so stayed in and watched 4 episodes of `Lost: Season 2`.

Went to the doctors in the morning about my blood pressure. He gave me some tablets to help reduce it. Didn't do too much for the rest of the day really. I did attempt to go to Asda though but then when I was half a mile down the road I realised I'd forgot my prescription so I turned around and went back and got that and tried again. This time I got all the way to Asda and realised I'd forgot my wallet! So I gave up. I came home and did did some tidying for a bit. I did eventually make to Asda with everything I needed! In the evening we were both fairly tired so we just chilled out and I played a `Age Of Empires II: The Conquerors` computer game.

It was our 3rd Wedding Anniversary today! So swapped cards and presents in the morning. 3rd Wedding Anniversary have a leather theme. Andrea got me a very posh leather wallet. I will take Andrea out to get a posh leather hand bag. After Andrea went to work, I just worked at home all day. I had a fair bit to do. At about 10am I went over to the Lyndhurst Rest Home to do the service with the Brighton and Hove City Mission. I was doing the talk from John 13:34-35. It went OK I think. When Andrea got home we got ready to go out and then watched some of our wedding DVD. At around 8pm we went to the Thai place above the Duke Of Beaufont pub in Hanover. That was really lovely. Got in about 10.30pm and watched the rest of the wedding DVD. It was really good to see it again. Had a lovely time.

Up early again but I had another good run into work. Work was much better today! Popped out to Marks and Spencers at lunch time and got a sandwich. I had another good journey home from work. Before going home I popped into Halfrods as I'd run out of screen wash in the car. Andrea was out at singing practice at church so she got back about 8pm and then we pretty much went straight out again to have dinner at Rachel and Ricardo's place. That was really nice to see them, as we hadn't really spent much time with them for ages. Good evening. Left there about 11pm.

It was really nice to spend the evening with evening with Andrea at home. I was really tried though and I went to bed about 9.30pm!

We all got up about 8am or so. Andrea went to church early as she was singing. Dee and Dad discovered that our drains were blocked towards Rays side. So Dee and Dad sorted that out with Ray and they got it sorted. Dee finished off the kitchen and I left them to it to go to church at 10am. church was good. Afterwards we went to Anne and Mikes for lunch which was really nice. Andrea left at about 5pm to go to the evening signing practice as Annie and her were leading. I went to meet up with Cooper in the Druids as he was down for the afternoon. Left there about 6.15pm to go to the evening service. Dave Leage preached and he was really good. After that we popped into Jamie;s as it had been his birthday on Friday but as they'd gone to Pool on Friday we hadn't been able to see him. We didn't stay for too long. When we got back I sorted myself out for work and then we watched another episode of `Lost: Season 2`.

Got up and watched an episode of `Lost: Season 2`. Clare, Dee, Ali and Dad all come down about 10am. Dee was finishing the lining paper in the kitchen and then painting and tidying it all up a bit as well. They all arrived at 10am and after a cup tea, Dee got to work. At about 11.45am We all went over to see Claire and Dees new house they are in the process of buying in Coldean. It was really good to see. It was very nice. After that we came back and had lunch and then Dee did some more decorating. Dad cut the grass and cut the hedges and things and Andrea, Claire Ali and Me just sat around really! In the evening we decided we would get a take away so me and Dad went out to pick it up and got a few beers as well. We got a Chinese from Peking express on South over Street. It was really nice and we had loads. After that we all had a fairly early night. Everyone stayed the night.

Got up early and did an hour and a half of work to make up half a day with what I did yesterday. Then after breakfast we had our second appointment with the mid wife. That was delayed so we didn't; get seen until fairly late. She was pretty unorganised. Andrea gave some blood for some tests and then Andrea went back to work and I went on the Andy Clarks for our prayer get together. After that I drove into town to get a few bits and didn't get back home until about 2.30pm In the afternoon I did bit of cleaning and tidying. After dinner we went to the Druids and saw a bunch of people. Micah was there and his new girl friend Emily. Good evening. When we got back we watched an episode of `Lost: Season 2`

Did a bit more work form home today as I had a lot on at work but I had a headache when I woke up which got worse and worse as the morning went on. By 11.30am I felt awful. I stopped work and went to bed. Andrea came home for lunch so I got up and had some lunch with her but I still felt ruff. After she went back to work I went back to bed and didn't get up again until 4.30pm when I felt much better. After dinner I went over to see Sean Chapman from church and spent about an hour and half over at his place. When I got back we watched an episode of `Lost: Season 2`

Finished reading my book in the morning. Work was a little bit better today. The morning was a bit of a nightmare but the afternoon was better for some reason. For lunch I went to McDonalds as I'd missed the sandwich man at work. Had a pretty good journey home until I got on the M23 which was very slow all the way to the A264 turn off and then it was fine after that. We went out and got fish and chips from the place on upper Lewes road, and they were really nice. Yummy! we ate that while watching another episode of `Blue Planet`. We had to sort out our holiday that evening as well, so I could phone the bloke back and book it tomorrow as our first choose of hotel was full up. So we spent a bit of time looking on the Internet at hotel and stuff.

Had a pretty good journey into work. Had a rubbish day at work though. Very busy and just a nightmare. At lunch time Fiona was away so I went to Tesco and got my dinner for that evening. When I got to the B+B they had upgraded me to the massive room 1. So that was nice to have a change. I went for a short stroll down to the train tracks in the evening, and then watched an episode of `Blue Planet`.

Andrea still felt slightly unwell today but she went to church early to anyway as she was singing. I went to collect Norman from wavertree house but he was unwell so wasn't coming out. Dave Treener preached a good sermon, and we hung around for a little while afterwards and had a cup of tea. Came home had lunch and then chilled out for the rest of the afternoon. We watched `Rear Window` but Andrea feel asleep quite early in to it and I did too for a little bit. It wasn't a great film. Andrea stayed sleeping for most of the afternoon really. I went back to church a little early as I was doing some web stuff with Laura and Jon from church. After church we cam ehome and I got myself sorted out for work the next day.

I Went To Dave's Diner

After Andrea had had breakfast we went for a walk but decided when we got there that we didn't have time for a long walk so we went to the 18 hole pitch and putt course near the marina. That was good fun. After that We came home briefly before going out again. I dropped Andrea off at sainsbury as she was going to get her hair cut and I wanted to have something to eat as hadn't had any breakfast. I went to Daves Diner which was great. About 5ish I went to pick Andrea up and her haid looked reallt good. Then we got ready to go to Sarah and Ian's (Sarah works in Andreas lab) wedding reception at Stan Hill Court Hotel near Gatwick. That was good. It was a really nice old hotel in the middle on no where. We had a good evening and did a bit of dancing, but Towards to the end of the evening Andrea didn't feel well so we left about 10.45pm and Andrea drove us home although she felt really ruff.

Did a few bits round the house first thing before going to ATS Euromaster at 10am to get my front tyres changed. While I was waiting for them to be done, I went down to the beach and sat my book for a while. Once my tyres were done I came home and did some admin stuff and then Andrea got in about midday and we got ready to go to London to have our first scan. Drove to Brighton Station and got our tickets etc. Had a good journey there. The Hospital was Kings College round the corner from Denmark Hill Station. We got there in good time and were seen quickly. They took Andrea's blood pressure and a blood sample and then we went in to have the scan done. That was really amazing. We saw the babys heart beating and you could clearly see its head, arms, feet, hands, etc. They scanned for a fair while and then we waited while they got results of blood test and other stuff. Then they told us the baby was all fine and that we have the lowest possible chance of abnormalities. After the scan we got the train back to Victoria and then had a walk down past Westminster Abbey and along Embankment and ended up at Covent Garden, where we had a meal and went for a drink. Then we got the tube back to Victoria and got a train home. When we got in we watched the end of `Robots`. Great film.

Went to church and did door 2 door with Andy. On the way home I went to ATS Euromasters in kemptown to see if they could my tyres but they were all booked up so I made an appointment to come back tomorrow. Got home and did some bits on the computer. Andrea came at lunch time so we made lunch together which was nice. In the afternoon I went to sainsburys for a few things. When did a few bits on the computer and spent ages looking for a a holiday for us at the end of august. While I was doing that The valeters came and cleaned my car. Spoke to Roger at lastminute.com and spent ages on the Internet as well. Andrea came home and we had dinner and then looked at holidays on the Internet again for ages. Eventually found one we liked. Then we watched the first half of `Robots` which was really good.

Woke up fairly late today. Worked form home all day. Andrea came home for lunch and when she left to go back to work I popped out to the local shops to get a few bits. In the evening we took a stroll up to Gava and Melissa's which was only a 15 minute walk from ours. Gava was working but Melissa gave us a tour of their new place. It looks really good. Got home about 9.30pm and then Atkins wanted some stuff printed off for a report she had to have ready for work the next day so I printed off some stuff for her and then she popped over about 10.45pm and stayed till about 11.30pm. Good to see her.

Work was a little slow today. At lunch I sat in the staff and had another microwave meal and read my book (The Magicians Nephew). Had a good journey home. I cooked us some dinner and then we watched `Into The Blue` which was alright.
